The Transport Minister also announced that the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) is set to begin accepting applications for Temporary Change Permits (LPS) from January 15 to February 2. These permits are designed to enable buses from various categories to offer transportation services for individuals traveling home for the Chinese New Year, provided they meet certain criteria.
Loke highlighted the success of this initiative in the previous year, which resulted in the addition of 296 buses. He anticipates an even greater number this year. Furthermore, he mentioned that APAD has issued reminders to all bus terminal operators to increase their staffing and ticket counter services to efficiently manage the expected surge in passenger numbers during the holiday season.
