Sentosa Island, a popular tourist destination in Singapore, has partially closed its beaches following an oil spill from a nearby port collision. The incident, which occurred on Friday, involved a collision between a dredger and a bunker vessel at the Pasir Panjang terminal.

Authorities are working diligently to address the situation. The Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore has launched extensive clean-up operations to minimize environmental damage and restore the affected areas. Three beaches – Tanjong, Palawan, and Siloso – are temporarily closed to the public as crews remove oil residue.

“Warning signs have been placed prominently along the beaches, advising visitors of the closure and urging them to stay out of the water,” said an MPA spokesperson. The MPA has deployed specialized vessels to disperse the oil and recover oil slicks.

Despite the beach closures, Sentosa Island remains open for business. Maritime traffic remains unaffected, and visitors can still enjoy the island’s many attractions, including the casino, Universal Studios theme park, and luxury resorts.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates on the clean-up progress and beach accessibility as they become available. While the oil spill may cause some disruption, Sentosa Island is still a premier destination offering a mix of leisure, entertainment, and natural beauty.
